| The Greening of Claggett
Summer and Fall Events at the Bishop Claggett Center |
|
The Greening of Claggett
The Bishop Claggett Center Board of Trustees decided to pursue a major landscaping project, the Greening of Claggett, and we are asking you to support this endeavor by sponsoring the purchase and planting of a tree for the very reasonable amount of $100. Approximately 250 trees will be planted in groves designed to serve several purposes. Some are intended to create shaded outdoor gathering areas. Others are intended to block the wind or naturally cool air around buildings. All are intended to beautify the site for decades to come. The Greening of Claggett is a priority for the fall of 2008. As donations are received, a variety of hardy, drought resistant trees will be planted throughout the property and will be arranged in groves with a grove representing each of the twelve regions. Claggett will develop a map to assist guests in locating their regional grove. Each sponsoring parish, group or individual will have its name recorded in a regional designation. Download the flyer.
