The Horizons Gathering

Developing Goals and a Vision for our Diocese

Nearly 150 people repesenting churches, clergy and institutions accepted Bishops Sutton's invitation to be part of the newly formed "Horizons Gathering." Their first meeting will took place on October 3 at the Bishop Claggett Center.

Area Gatherings

Sunrise. Bishops Sutton and Rabb invite you to join members of the Horizons Gathering and facilitators from the Mission Strategy Group to a series of Horizons Area Gatherings where we will discuss the future of the Diocese of Maryland.

Below is a list of the Area Gatherings, together with the Conveners/Facilitators for each Gathering. There follows a suggested agenda with questions for reflection.

Suggested Agenda

  1. Opening Prayer
  2. Invitation to Horizons Gathering People (i.e. – those who attended gathering on October 3) to share what they took away from the meeting. How were you affected by the Horizons Gathering? What didn’t you say there that you would like to add? What did you bring away from the event?
  3. 15-minute summary of where we came from with any questions about the process
  4. “New” People: What ideas do you have?
  5. All: What themes do we see?
  6. Closing Prayer
