TITLE: Millennium Development Goals
RESOLVED, that the 222nd Convention of Diocese of Maryland, meeting May 5-6, 2006, pledges 0.7% of its annual budget to fulfill the Millennium Development Goals and encourages the congregations and individuals of the Diocese of Maryland to do likewise; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Bishop of Maryland appoint a Global Missions Committee to make recommendations to the Diocesan Council as to where the Millennium Development Goals monies should be sent, with the understanding that the 0.7% of the Diocesan Budget designated for Millennium Development Goals is to remain in effect until rescinded by Diocesan Convention, and that no Diocesan budget be passed without a Millennium Development Goals line item funded at a level of at least 0.7% of the total budget.
